Obama visits Viet Nam to drum up imperialist wars

UNITED KINGDOM––U.S. president Barack Obama’s trip to Viet Nam in May 24, 2016, was part of another attempt by the U.S. ruling class to win China’s neighbors to unite with the U.S. strategic goal of encircling and containing China.

Viet Nam fought heroic battles against the Japanese, French and the U.S. imperialists to achieve self-determination today. The historical defeat of French army in Dien Bien Phu on May 7, 1954, opened a new era of self belief for us colonized peoples in our capacity to defeat white power armies.

The U.S. imperialist aggressed Viet Nam in a vain attempt to impose a neocolonial solution. Under the leadership of the Communist Party, the Vietnamese people fought one of the fiercest revolutionary national war of liberation the world has ever seen, to kick U.S imperialism out of Viet Nam.

U.S. air power with all of its sophistication was fully deployed: bombing residential areas, water routes, dikes, damns, irrigation works, etc.

Weapons of mass destruction were used: Napalm, phosphorous, and Agent Orange (dioxin), Scorched Earth was the norm with destruction of crops, vegetation and forests in liberated areas.

U.S. imperialists had numerous counter-insurgency programs to kill the Viet Nam’s national liberation leaders. The CIA ‘s Operation Phoenix killed at least 40,000 Vietnamese leaders. The U.S. lost the war despite having up to 500,000 soldiers in Vietnam.

U.S. president Obama gives speech in Hanoi

In his cheeky speech which he made in the capital city of Hanoi, the U.S. president acknowledged, “some 3 million Vietnamese, soldiers and civilians, on both sides, who lost their lives.”

According to the Associated Press source in 1995 “…the number of civilian deaths in the entire war were almost 2 million people.”

U.S. president Obama also told the Vietnamese people that the country’s human rights record is “an area where we still have differences.”

This is a highest expression of insanity from Obama today.

According to study by Brett Morris in June 2016, “40,000 people have been killed and 65,000 people injured by the unexploded bombs since the formal end of the war.”

It further says, “The United States dropped more than 2 million tons of bombs on Laos from 1964 to 1973––more than 12 times what the U.S. dropped on Japan during World War II.

“One purpose of the bombing was to target Vietnamese communist forces along the Ho Chi Minh Trail, as well as their communist Laotian allies, the Pathet Lao.”

The same article gives evidence that the U.S. war on the Vietnamese people has never ended “For its part, the Vietnamese Red Cross estimates 3 million people have been affected by Agent Orange, including 150,000 children born with birth defects.

“Agent Orange was a herbicide mixture used by the U.S. military during the Vietnam War. Much of it contained a dangerous chemical contaminant called dioxin,… dioxin is a highly toxic and persistent organic pollutant linked to cancers, diabetes, birth defects and other disabilities…

“Agent Orange was sprayed at up to 50 times the concentration the manufacturers recommended for killing plants. It defoliated millions of acres of forests and farmland. Much of that land remains degraded and unproductive to this day.” (aspeninstitute.org)

Viet Nam’s progress after defeat of U.S. imperialism

Obama acknowledges the transformation that has occurred in Viet Nam since the defeat of the U.S. imperialist in Viet Nam. He states, “Hunger, disease, child and maternal mortality are all down.

“The number of people with clean drinking water and electricity, the number of boys and girls in school, and the literacy rate––these are all up.

“This is extraordinary progress. This is what you have been able to achieve in a very short time.”

Indeed, this was possible only because the Vietnamese defeated U.S. imperialism and their puppets in Viet Nam.

Getting the U.S. out of Viet Nam was a great victory, but the struggle does not end there. Parasitic capitalism is a worldwide system that cannot be defeated in one location or country.

It needs to be eradicated as a global scale, with colonized people standing in solidarity with each other.

Socialism must become a worldwide system

What happened in Viet Nam, as Chairman Omali of the African People’s Socialist Party explained, in the case of the Soviet Union. Socialist leaders took power because conditions were favorable.

It does not mean, however, that the parasitic capitalism was uprooted and overthrown.

In other words, a socialist Viet Nam is only possible, if the axiom of the great Ho Chi Minh is recognized worldwide.

Ho Chi Minh said that “the head of imperialism is in the colonies.” That is, colonialism is the pedestal upon which parasitic capitalism depends. It must be destroyed.

We must advance the struggle of Ho Chi Minh. This is the mission of the African People’s Socialist Party.

Socialism is impossible until colonialism is destroyed, as well as its reformed format today, which was defined by Nkrumah as neocolonialism.

Viet Nam’s association with Obama will not bring them freedom

The Vietnamese people should have welcomed the U.S. president with demands for reparations and return of their stolen resources by Japanese, French and North Americans! They should have charge Obama and the U.S. ruling class with genocide.

Obama has lifted the arms embargo that the U.S. rulers imposed on the Vietnamese people. This means that the U.S. can sell more weapons to Viet Nam.

The technology and investment that Viet Nam wants to get from the U.S. are labor and resources stolen from Viet Nam.

Technology is concentration of values created by colonized peoples. Viet Nam’s association with the U.S. may get them access to technology, science and new weapons, however, it will not secure peace for them, because there is no peace with U.S. imperialism.

Obama is in Viet Nam to win Viet Nam to advance the U.S.’s war plans against China, which in the final analysis, is the U.S.’s attempt to maintain colonial domination over the whole of Asia.

The U.S., however, has been made to bleed by Vietnamese, Afghan, Iraqis and other colonized peoples’ resistance.

The future of Viet Nam is not with U.S. imperialism; it is against U.S. imperialism.

Obama visits Japan to gain support for its remilitarization

The president’s trip to Viet Nam was followed by a trip to imperialist Japan, where G7 Summit was to take place.

The goal was the same, to drum support for the remilitarization of Japan, as part of the process of war preparations against China.

The fact that Obama did not apologize to Japanese people, cannot hide the truth, which is that Obama went to Asia as a declining white power, incapable to unilaterally impose his will.

This is one reason why the U.S. is pushing for the rearming of Japan through the so-called self defence forces. There are no such things as self defence imperialist forces.

We must expose historical crime committed by the U.S. imperialism against Japan. The use of Atomic bombs on cities of Nagasaki and Hiroshima by U.S . white power air force was done because Japanese were not white people.

The U.S. never dropped it on white Germany. Dropping those two atomic bombs on defenceless civilians was a premeditated genocide crime.

Shinzo Abe, Japan’s current prime minister, has been driving the remilitarization of Japan,

Abe has led the reform of the Japanese constitution in July 2014, to undermine the anti-war constitution that the U.S. imposed on Japan when it suited them after they defeated Japan in 1945.

The drive for U.S imperialist war in Asia is real.

Malabar Naval War Games

We see this with the inclusion of Japan as a third partner in the June 2016 Malabar naval war game. This military rehearsal increases the possibility of war in the region. India and the U.S. are the other two participants.

The war exercise would take place between the South China Sea––the hot bed of the contest between the U.S. and China.

The U.S., Japan and India put together aircraft carriers and destroyers carrying helicopters, cruisers, nuclear powered submarines.

Many experts believed that the closure of the South China Sea will strangle China by depriving her from effectively trading with the outside world.

“China claims most of the South China Sea, through which $5 trillion USD ($3 trillion Pounds) in ship-born trade passes every year.”(Asian Times, June 7, 2016 )

That is why China is busy working alternative routes that avoid the sea routes, such as resurrecting silk roads through Russia, Iran and the Middle East.

In the cases of China and Viet Nam, the limitations of Marxism are clear. Socialist leaders in China and in Viet Nam have not built socialism.

They rely on the same parasitic capitalist structures for their development. Part of the conclusion of Marx was that socialism will be ushering in by the “advanced working class revolutions” in the Europe and North America.

Chairman Omali’s conclusion points to the way forward to unlock the crisis in China and Viet Nam.

He explains, “…This seizure of State power by socialists did not change the reality that the world economy, even the world economy within which Russia existed, was and continues to be, a capitalist world economy.

“It is the same world economy created by the slave trade and augmented by other facets of parasitic or “primitive accumulation” that transformed the vast majority of the peoples and countries of the world into great reservoirs of human and material resources largely for European and North American exploitation.”
