InPDUM Convention: We Must Organize The People Now More Than Ever!

The International People’s Democratic Uhuru Movement (InPDUM) calls on all sisters, brothers and comrades to attend our glorious 26th Anniversary Convention. With the theme “We Must Organize The People, Now More Than Ever,” our historic two-day convention will take place on September 16th and 17th in Ferguson, St. Louis at Legacy Books and Cafe at 5249 Delmar Blvd, St. Louis, MO 63108.

Founded by the African People’s Socialist Party (APSP) in April of 1991, InPDUM was created as strategy to bring the masses of African (or black) people back into political life. As a vehicle for the masses, InPDUM is the leading mass organization in the fighting for bread, peace and black power.

Indeed, this is the time to mobilize and organize the masses of African people towards gaining self-determination and democratic rights.

On August 9, 2014, young Michael Brown was gunned down by murderous cop Darren Wilson on Canfield Drive, Ferguson. This callous murder sparked a fierce resistance by the poor and working class African people of Ferguson which resonated around the globe.

The rebellions in Ferguson and elsewhere on the planet was a clear sign of the deepening crisis of imperialism. InPDUM is clear that we must deepen this crisis! We will deepen this crisis with our Convention.

Our 26th Anniversary Convention will begin with a powerful march of resistance beginning on Canfield Dr. down West Florissant, where the African Resistance was rebirthed.

InPDUM’s primary goal of this momentous convention is to win the masses to the understanding that we as African people must get organized towards securing black power into our own black hands. Africans in the U.S. must become a united front of the worldwide Black Liberation Movement. The masses will emerge from our convention not just as leaders, but also as organizers ready and armed to win the masses to the theory of African Internationalism.

Hence, our 26th Anniversary Convention is a political action that will speak to the material interests of the African poor and working class. We will lay out our demands and reignite our Africans Charge Genocide campaign.

Attendees will have the ability to have their voices heard and participate in “true democracy” when choosing the leadership body for 2018, voting on the mandates and approving the goals of our organization for the next year.

Our featured keynote speaker––the Chairman of the African People’s Socialist Party, Omali Yeshitela––will outline the revolutionary trajectory of our organization.

The Convention will also feature an abundance of workshops and presentations that will guide our work. We will especially stress the reality that the economic and the political are one, and in fact, the economic work guides the political work.

Participants of our convention will be taught on how to effectively build economic institutions in their respective communities; as well as creating dual and contending power.

Neither U.S. president Donald Trump, the Republican party, nor the Democratic party, speak to the interests of the colonized and oppressed African nation. It is with this understanding that we say now is the time for us to take our own future, and the future of our children, into our own hands!

Our Convention truly signals a new era for the International People’s Democratic Uhuru Movement.

As International President of InPDUM, I, Kalambayi Andenet, am fighting for every African to join us in shaping a new world and organizing for black power. Will you?
