Defend our Chairman Omali Yeshitela!

The following is a statement from the African Socialist International (ASI), prepared by ASI Secretary General Luwezi Kinshasa.

This is a call to everyone who believes in freedom for oppressed peoples, to those who defend human dignity. We have the right to resist and to have our own leaders, who are only accountable to ourselves as oppressed people, not to the oppressor‘s leaders.

Chairman Omali has dedicated all his adult life to the fight for social justice, he has organised the African community to feed the hungry, to house the homeless, to educate the ignorant, to heal the sick. He is a tireless organiser against the exploitation of the women.

He stands with the colonised and oppressed peoples everywhere — Mexicans, Nicaraguans, Palestinians, etc. He campaigns again U.S. imperialist unjust wars against oppressed peoples inside and outside U.S. borders.

He stands always on the side of the poor, oppressed and exploited, He is selfless, courageous, he is a man of integrity, and he is a philosopher, a scientist, a writer.

Omali Yeshitela is a champion for those who believe in and want a better humanity, free from the relationships of slaves and slave masters, free from the relationships of oppressor nations and oppressed nations.

He, more than anyone today in the world, exemplifies what a full human being should be; a really human being by excellence.

What is the track record of the United States government? It is murders on a mega scale, invasions, assassination of legitimate leaders, briberies, theft of elections, and genocide of entire nations.

Today, things are different. The African nation is waking up. It is a new dawn for justice and power of our own and for our own use.

Chairman Yeshitela represents the leadership of this unstoppable rise. To harm our Chairman is to make a declaration of hostility against over one billion African people worldwide.

We will not stand by and allow this U.S. government to make threats or attempts on the Chairman’s life.

We are moving swiftly by calling on all our people around the world to defend Chairman’s life by being permanently mobilised and ready to defend our leader, the bearer of our vision of a unified and liberated Africa under the leadership of workers in alliance with the peasants.

U.S. imperialism, hands off Chairman Omali Yeshitela!

Touch One! Touch all!
