The Political and Economic are One

African People’s Socialist Party Chairman Omali Yeshitela has stated clearly that politics are concentrated economics.

This truth is reflected in the differences in the politics of our movement compared to many others.

Our politics demand liberation, self-determination and independence for African people in the U.S. and throughout the world.

This means that Africans have to become economically self-reliant, building our own independent anti colonial socialist economy.

We know that this is not something that can or should happen all at once.

We can begin to build our economy now around our own black power.

We begin this process by creating a dual and contending power within our colonial condition that contributes to undermining the parasitic economic hold of white power on our people and prepares the African working class for self-government.

The Black Power Blueprint Campaign in St. Louis unites the economic aspirations of African people with the politics of Black Power under the leadership of the African working class.
