ST. PETERSBURG, FL–It’s that time again! Black Power 96.3 FM’s 2nd Annual February member fund drive is getting ready to take off! Themed “Raise the Black Power Tower”, we have recently been approved by the Federal Communications Commission to raise our tower, expanding our coverage area!
For the entire month we have a goal of raising $10,000!
In addition to raising the tower, we will also be purchasing studio upgrades and improvements to foster the most professional listening experience for all of our beloved listeners!
We will also be celebrating the one-year anniversary of the official launch of the radio station that has brought the revolution to the airwaves!
Until this day, Black Power 96.3 FM has received no assistance outside of the support we receive from our supporting and sustaining members and the community.
#BP96 has and will continuously convey our appreciation to our community by helping our brothers and sisters realize that the success of this powerful tool lies within them; that it was through their contributions that the African People’s Education and Defense Fund was able to bring Black Power 96.3 FM into existence.
We want ALL of our listeners to become supporting or sustaining members of the station, local and abroad!
We can’t forget about those who listen through the Black Power 96 app or online!
Recently, we have also been able to acquire another local radio station; 100.1 WUBP LP St. Petersburg!
Under the direction of another Uhuru Movement mass organization, the All African People’s Development and Empowerment Project, WUBP 100.1’s programming will focus on political speeches and commentary, the Black Ankh Project, and oldies but goodies! More details are forthcoming, so keep your eyes open!
The war of ideas continues and the crisis of imperialism deepens every single day.
The struggles of the African Working Class are vilely co-opted by “liberal” white leftists and the black petty bourgeoisie alike.
Innocent Africans are still at the mercy of police brutality and stories of their deaths are either swept under the rug or contorted in such a way that the victims become the villains.
Black Power 96 dispels these white colonial media narratives and provides our brothers and sisters with political education so that there is no question of how this colonial system works.
Through Black Power 96.3 FM, the African People’s Education & Defense Fund has been able to provide local African businesses with adequate exposure, keeping true to the line of fighting disparities within the African community, such as economic development and self-reliance.
This is especially true for African communities located all over this country that are being gentrified out of existence; where petty merchants and white corporations are able to perform capital extraction and Africans can’t even get a business loan.
These are just some of the reasons why you should support Black Power 96.3 FM in our efforts to raise $10,000 during the “Raise the Black Power Tower” February member fund.
We are on a mission to not just explain the world, but change it!
Locally in St Petersburg, FL, a radio station by the name of WRXB was recently shut down without any explanation.
Not only did Chairman Omali Yeshitela once have a show on this station, but it was one that many Africans in the community used to listen to.
Black Power 96.3 FM has destroyed the idea that Africans cannot create media without the assistance of white power.
You hold us accountable to everything that we do and we’d have it no other way.
Black Power 96.3 FM is “the right to free speech and political association, a guarantee of the right to work for the betterment and emancipation of black people without fear of political imprisonment and the loss of life, limb, and livelihood”(Point 4 of APSP’s working platform).
Visit BlackPower96.org/donate today or call into the station for the entire month of February to make your pledge!
We’re raising the Black Power Tower and NO ONE will be able to stop us!
