Mobilize in opposition to police occupation of African communities in Britain!

On Wednesday, August 10 at 5:00pm, the African Socialist International (ASI) will hold a demonstration in front of the British Embassy in Washington, DC at 3100 Massachusetts Ave NW in solidarity with African people resisting the police violence and containment in Britain.

Since, August 4, Africans have been in the streets of London in a state of resistance following the police murder of 29-year-old Mark Duggan and subsequent brutalization of others including a 16-year-old girl.

Now the British government is discussing sending its army into the streets.

The African Socialist International is calling on all African people and our allies in the area to join in this demonstration. The ASI is also calling on people around the world to hold similar demonstrations at British Embassies where you are located.

We must demand:

1. The end of the public policy of police containment of the African community in Britain and the establishment of a public policy of economic development.

2. The immediate and unconditional release of all those black youth arrested as a result of the rebellion sparked by the police murder of Mark Duggan.

3. The immediate arrest of all police officers involved in gunning down Mark Duggan.

4. Reparations be paid to the family of Mark Duggan.

5. An end to all British wars on African people, not only in Britain, but also in Libya, Congo and elsewhere!

For more information, call 202-681-7040 or email dc@apspuhuru.org.

Also, stand against the wars on African people around the world on the International Day of Action, August 20. For more information on how you can participate in an action in your city or organize one yourself, contact the Black is Back Coalition for Social Justice, Peace and Reparations at 202 681 7040 or info@blackisbackcoalition.org. www.blackisbackcoalition.org
