St. Petersburg, Florida—A plane crashed less than a block away from the Uhuru House on Wednesday, October 18, 2017 at 3:45pm. A total of 5 people were injured and 3 cars totaled. Amongst the three injured was an African woman and her grandson.

St. Petersburg, FL—A candidate for mayor representing a pitiful sector of the white ruling class told attendees of Tuesday night’s Mayoral debate to “go back to Africa.”

Paul Congemi made these vile comments in response to Uhuru Movement mayoral candidate Jesse Nevel, whose platform calls for “Unity through Reparations.”

The Houston Branch of the International People’s Democratic Uhuru Movement (InPDUM-Houston) was invited to attend and speak at a Black Lives Matter March for Human Rights on Saturday, May 20, 2017 in Downtown Houston, TX.

The Human Rights March was organized as a unity event to center blackness in all of the issues that we are facing in this country, state, city and all while trying to survive under U.S. president Donald Trump, according to its organizers.

The local InPDUM Houston branch decided that this would be a good opportunity to discuss human rights in the form of self-determination and freedom for African people as points 1 and 2 of InPDUM’s Revolutionary National Democratic Program of state: “We demand all rights consistent with being a free people, rights which include self-determination and self-government as the highest expression of genuine democracy. We demand independence in our lifetime. We demand international democratic rights and self-determination for African people throughout the world.”

On Friday, March 31, 2017 at 10am, on the one year anniversary of the drowning of three black girls, Dominique Battle, Ashaunti Butler, and La’Niyah Miller, Attorney Aaron T. O'Neal, counsel for Kunde Mwamvita (Yashica Clemmons), mother of one of the three girls Dominique Battle, will be filing a Notice of Intent to Sue the Pinellas Sheriff’s Office for the drowning of Dominique Battle.

About 100 protestors gathered outside of the convenience store Mike Brown visited on August 9, 2014 shortly before he was murdered in cold blood by now former Ferguson cop, Darren Wilson on March 12, 2017. The protest was sparked by a clip of newly-released video showing Brown at the convenience store the night before his murder. The video was used in a documentary about his murder, titled “Stranger Fruit.” It was featured at the SXSW film festival last month.

 
Before the murder of Mike Brown, the African community in Ferguson, already under military occupation by the police on a daily basis, saw that military occupation quadruple in size with the addition of tanks, troops and martial law after Mike’s murder.
