Bahamas conference joins black people in Americas to worldwide African revolution

To the attention of comrades and African patriots throughout the Caribbean, Central America and South America; the African Socialist International (ASI) is hosting a Caribbean and Latin American Regional Conference in Nassau, The Bahamas from April 6 – 9, 2012 under the theme: “Uniting the African World—Joining the Revolutionary Party for Liberation!”

The ASI is the first stage of the struggle by the African workers and toiling masses of the world to create a genuine free, United Africa.

Brothers and Sisters, we recognize the fact that imperialism continues to oppress and exploit African people no matter their location or colonial nationality.

In the Bahamas, the so-called “Paradise of the Caribbean,” African workers experience forced economic exploitation and underdevelopment.

Imperialism continues to suppress political democracy in Haiti.

The people of Cuba are being made to suffer from an unfair and unjust economic embargo.

And we know that imperialism will do whatever it takes to support reactionary forces in Mexico, Brazil, Venezuela, Bolivia and throughout all of the Caribbean, Central and South America.

The current stage of imperialism is neocolonialism. The great Kwame Nkrumah called this the last stage of imperialism, which can no longer provide safe havens to a retreating and dying empire, as the struggles of billions of oppressed people around the world are gathering pace and strength to repossess their lives and resources.

African people in the Caribbean have long been part of this struggle, and this conference will pave the way for us to break the colonialist imposed boundaries that impede African unity and self-determination.

This conference will allow us to clearly define the question of Africa, its relationship to the structure of the capitalist world economy and our relationship to it.

We will also define imperialism and primitive accumulation, while discussing terms like police state, reparations, nation-state and Black Power.

Participants will also be invited to join a revolutionary Party that works for real freedom and liberation of Africans everywhere.

Comrades and African patriots, a new era in human history is unfolding before our eyes. We can now materialize the vision of our great leaders like Marcus Garvey, Kwame Nkrumah, Patrice Lumumba, Malcolm X and others by equipping African workers with revolutionary theory and organization to lead our own struggle for political power in our own hands.

Join us in Nassau, The Bahamas on April 6 – 9, 2012 to unite Africans world-wide and to join a revolutionary organization that has declared this the era of the world-wide African Revolution and socialist re-unification of Africa and African people, under the leadership of African workers and peasants.
