The African People's Socialist Party salutes El Hajj Malik Shabazz (Malcolm X) on this Martyrs Day, February 21, 2010 which marks the 45th anniversary of his assassination. Malcolm, shot dead while addressing an audience in Harlem, New York on February 21, 1965 by agents acting on behalf of the United States Government, was the foremost African revolutionary at the time of his death. The Student Non-Violent Coordinating Committee (SNCC), The Black Panther Party, and the African People's Socialist Party's leadership and membership were all students of this Giant in the struggle for African liberation.
