Police murder African mother, Korryn Gaines, and shot her child in their Baltimore home

Randallstown, MD––Baltimore County police murdered a 23-year-old African mother, Korryn Gaines, and shot her five-year-old son on August 1, 2016.

No charges will be filed for the murder of African teen Kendrick Johnson

The U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) announced on June 20, 2016,  that there would be no charges filed in the death of African teen Kendrick Johnson.

The DOJ stated that they “found insufficient evidence to support federal criminal charges."

Kendrick was murdered and his body later found in Lowndes High School gym in Valdosta, GA on January 11, 2013.

Kalief Browder: One year after his suicide, the State is still responsible!

 

New York—Yesterday marked one year since the suicide death of Kalief Browder. Young African Kalief was arrested at the age of 16 in 2010 and imprisoned for three years for allegedly stealing a backpack.

Kalief never stood trial, nor was he found guilty of any crime. He, however, spent three years at the Riker’s jail. Nearly two of those years were spent in solitary confinement.

The case was eventually dismissed and Kalief, affectionately called Peanut by his family, was released in June of 2013 after numerous postponements of his case and 31 hearings.

Kalief hanged himself in his home in the Bronx on June 6th of last year.

The city of Cleveland pays $6 million in blood money to the family of Tamir Rice

Cleveland mayor Frank Jackson announced on April 25, 2016 that the city granted Tamir’s family $6 million in a settlement, yet maintains that they hold no responsibility in the child's death.

The city's official position as stated in the settlement terms is that young Tamir was at fault. This makes the them immune to any form of criminal prosecution.

On March 31st, Pinellas police enacted a car chase on these young girls, pushed them into a pond and stood by as they drowned.
