Kickstart One Africa 100.1 FM

On Friday, October 11 at 7:30pm, Black Power 96 Station Manager Themba Tshibanda will host a special online webinar to discuss the plans of the All African People’s Development and Empowerment Project to bring its own non-commercial FM radio station back onto the airwaves with a new format featuring the complete library of speeches by Chairman Omali Yeshitela, along with special presentations by other leaders of the African liberation movement.

Comrade Themba will talk with Dr. Aisha Fields, Director of the All African People’s Development and Empowerment Project and Akilé Anai, Director of Burning Spear Media about their partnership in this radio station and its online podcast.

The station’s call letters are WUBP and its tagline is ‘One Africa! 100.1 FM!’ According to Tshibanda, “The ability for our African liberation movement to own and operate radio stations is an important victory in our struggle to take territory and to wage the war of ideas.

“Through this technology, we are free of the censorship of social media. We are connecting with Africans around the block and around the world. We are building a network of African broadcasters, consolidating a common narrative as part of our quest to unify and liberate the African nation.”

The kick-off web event will be live-streamed on The Burning Spear TV on YouTube and The Burning Spear Facebook Page. It will include a funding appeal to raise $3,000 for needed equipment including an emergency broadcast alert system for the FM station.
