African Liberation Day: Building unity for Yashica Clemmons, mother of Dominique Battle who was murdered by Pinellas County deputies with her two friends

This Year’s African Liberation Day, themed: “Building Unity in Struggle” will take place at Howard University in Washington DC on May 21, 2016.

In accordance with the theme of unity, we urge all freedom-loving Africans to attend this powerful African Liberation Day to unite around Yashica Clemmons, the mother of Dominique Battle who who was murdered by Pinellas County sheriff’s deputies.

Dominique, along with her two friends Laniya and Ashaunti, were chased off the road and into a pond by Pinellas sheriff’s deputies on March 31, 2016. Sheriff’s deputy Howard Skaggs and other cops on the scene stood by and refused to offer assistance as the three black girls screamed and cried out for help as they submerged under water and drowned.

Pinellas deputies lied in their initial reports of the incident as they stated that they went into the pond in an attempt to save the girls. It was not until a dash-cam video revealed that the cops stood idly by as the girls drowned to their deaths that the masses learned the true story.

Cops can be heard on the video remarking callously, “They’re done.” One pig cynically stated that he thought he “heard yelling as it [the car] was going down, but now their done.”

Pinellas County sheriff’s department and white media since that day have worked hand-in-hand in slandering Dominique, Laniya and Ashaunti, as well as their families. Some media outlets have even blamed them for their own deaths.

The Uhuru Movement is clear, Pinellas County sheriff’s deputies and their ring-leader  Howard Skaggs are MURDERERS.

An international campaign for justice has been initiated by the Uhuru Movement. As part of this campaign, Yashica will be speaking at the African Liberation Day event on May 21st.

We call on everybody to attend and fully embrace Yashica and the three murdered girls.

Other speakers will include Chairman Omali Yeshitela of the African People’s Socialist Party (APSP) and Yejide Orumila of the African National Women’s Organization (ANWO).

This will be an extremely powerful event and is important for achieving meaningful relief and justice for the families of Dominique, Laniya and Ashaunti
