African People’s Socialist Party (APSP USA) Chairman Omali Yeshitela held a livestreamed session to address the African nation in the morning following the U.S. election process on November 8th.

With Donald Trump emerging as winner against the highly poll-favored Hillary Clinton––all the polls said she was winning, though not by much––Chairman Omali left no stone unturned. Offering keen insights and on-target analysis in a blistering 1 hour and 50-minute elocution so full of fire he literally set the room ablaze with chants of “UHURU!”

North Dakota––An armed white man drove his truck through a crowd of Native American demonstrators, running over and injuring one woman and then firing live bullets into the air during a demonstration on Saturday at a worksite near Mandan. There are no reports of this criminal being apprehended. 

Indigenous people are resisting the $3.8 billion Dakota Access pipeline in heavy protests. This attack from a white vigilante on our Indigenous brothers and sisters follows the arrest of 37 people on Friday, as demonstrators maintained multiple highway blockades.

The African community of St. Petersburg, Florida, led by the Uhuru Movement, erected a sign, renaming what was previously known as 18th Avenue to TyRon Lewis Avenue in honor of the 20th anniversary of the police murder of 18-year-old TyRon Lewis on October 24, 2016.

It was a sign embraced by the African community; the murder of TyRon Lewis still bearing relevancy. African people erected this sign without the permission from the city, exercising our right to be a self-determined people.

Unfortunately, but not at all by surprise, the city is planning to remove it after a letter sent by the police union has backed them into a corner.

Washington, DC—In a powerful display of African unity, African people from all over the United States convened in Washington D.C. on November 5th for the National Black Political Agenda for Self-Determination Convention.

Led by the Black is Back Coalition for Social Justice, Peace, and Reparations (BIB), the gathering of the black community––which included mothers whose children have been murdered by police and white vigilantes, members of various organization, and other brothers and sisters––convened at Malcolm X Park at noon.

The purpose of our gathering was to discuss our 19-point Black People’s Agenda, which speaks to many of the pressing issues affecting our communities, from the position of black women to climate change.

High school senior Jelani Masozi was forced by a Gibbs High School 9th grade assistant principal, Mrs. Holcombe, who was accompanied by cop, Grace Womack, to remove her headwrap on Thursday, August 25th, 2016.

The intimidating presence of the police, armed to the teeth with a gun, taser, and pepper spray—identical to the police that murder us in the streets—caused Jelani to feel like she had no other option but to remove her headwrap.

This humiliating, demoralizing request caused her to call the African National Women’s Organization (ANWO) who directed her to put her headwrap back on.

It was a nasty, dirty situation that happened. What you have to remember is that Africans were not wanting to leave Africa. Many Africans would literally jump off the ship or throw children off the ship rather than have the children going into slavery.  

And sometimes, when an African got sick on the ship, for fear that this African would make the others sick too, and therefore the persons who owned us would lose money, they would throw that African overboard. 

Schools of sharks literally learned to follow these ships across the Atlantic Ocean knowing that they were going to eat well from Africans who either jumped off or who got sick and died and then were thrown off by their captors. 

The African community of St. Petersburg, FL, led by the International People's Democratic Uhuru Movement (InPDUM), claimed and renamed the street where 18-year-old TyRon Lewis was murdered by the pigs exactly 20 years ago to the date on October 24, 2016.

The historic street-naming ceremony commenced as over two dozen Africans of the community, including the family of TyRon Lewis, gathered in front of the Uhuru House in the evening and marched to 18th Ave to rename it “TyRon Lewis Avenue.”

Over the weekend, Africans in New York, Washington D.C., Maryland, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Kansas, Texas and Illinois convened in their respective states to adopt the black people’s agenda which consists of a Declaration and 19-points .

Twelve states in all have signed onto the Black Power Agenda (including Florida, Missouri and Alabama) and are organizing Africans throughout their states to the National Black Political Convention. 

Our black people’s Agenda was sparked by the historical failure and betrayal of both white ruling class parties to solve what are considered “black people” problems and the uttered uneasiness the present U.S. presidential candidates evoke in the stomach pits of Africans trapped in the U.S.

African people stuck in the U.S. have come to a consensus: we have our own National Black Political Agenda for Self-Determination and will gather on November 5th and 6th in Washington D.C., just days before the white people’s election on November 8th.
