Beachwood, OHIO––Lenin John Torres-Sepulveda, a 38-year-old African man from Atlanta, Georgia was found dead, hanging from a tree on May 20, 2016.
Beachwood police state that they were notified of a body (later identified as Lenin) hanging from a tree by a passerby.
Lenin’s body was found in a wooded-area near Richmond Road and Park East Drive.
Undoubtedly the norm under colonialism, Beachwood police say that they suspect no foul play in the hanging death of Lenin and state that he committed suicide.
The African People’s Socialist Party (APSP) is clear that the State lies all the time.
There has been no autopsy performed on Lenin’s body. This obvious case of lynching is being swept under the rug, and not fully investigated.
Lynching Africans is as American as apple pie
White people in the U.S have been lynching Africans for well over a century. This is yet another recent case where an African was lynched.
Back in August 2014, the body of 17-year-old African teen, Lennon Lacy, was found hanging from a children’s swing set in rural Bladenboro, North Carolina. Lennon’s death, too, was ruled a suicide by North Carolina police.
It is not surprising that today’s representatives of white power would continue their “culture or violence.”
The State has the power to control the narrative around the murders of African people. This is clear genocide, yet the Cleveland PD is covering it up as a suicide.
Black Power Matters!

If Africans had power in our own hands, Lenin would have been protected.
We, the African community, need to make the demand for Black Power.
Having Black Power means that Africans have the ability to protect and defend our lives. It means that whether or not white people like us, they would have to think twice about harming and murdering us, because of the systems of protection that we will have.
The demand for Black Community Control of the Police (BCCOP) must be made.
With Black Community Control of the Police, the black community would properly investigate Lenin’s obvious hanging murder. On top of that, BCCOP would give the task of charging the murderers to the black community––they would have to answer to us.
