Stop U.S. imperialist war on Russia! Build the international African Revolution!

The African People’s Socialist Party stands with the progressive governments and peoples of the world in denouncing the U.S. and NATO attacks on the people and government of Russia.

Along with the African People’s Socialist Party and Chairman Omali Yeshitela, the leaders of Venezuela, China, Iran, Cuba, and Nicaragua have also spoken out in opposition to U.S. imperialism’s dangerous, instigating role in the crisis in Ukraine.

On Thursday, February 24 the Foreign Ministry of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela issued a statement “[expressing] its worry over the worsening of the crisis in Ukraine, and laments the mockery and violation of the Minsk accords on the part of NATO, encouraged by the United States of America.”

This current military situation in Ukraine was fomented by years of NATO encroachments, U.S.-CIA coups, “color revolutions”, slander and U.S. sanctions designed to starve the Russian people.

The U.S. media is working overtime to pump out imperialist lies to win the masses over to the idea that Biden, the U.S. and their partners are the champions of democracy, while slanderously depicting the Russians as the aggressors.

These lies serve to hide the bloody hand of U.S. imperialism.

The desperate, crisis-ridden U.S. government bears the responsibility for the bloodshed taking place in Eastern Europe today.

It is they who are responsible for the violence which has engulfed Ukraine over the past eight years since a U.S.-backed coup ousted the democratically elected president in Ukraine in 2014. Why did they stage a coup? Because the president at the time, Victor Yanukovych, was open to working in a positive relationship with Russia.

This CIA coup in 2014 paved the way for the ascendancy of the reactionary, white nationalist government of Volodymyr Zelensky, former professional comedian.

Zelensky is tied to the para-military, anti-Russian, pro-US “neo-Nazi” Svoboda Party. He has also expressed ambitions for Ukraine to join NATO.

NATO was created to contain and attack Russia. Since the dissolution of the Soviet Union in 1991, NATO has extended its borders 800 miles to the east, encroaching on Russia’s doorstep.

The U.S. and European powers hypocritically denounce Russian troop movements while funneling billions of dollars and arms into Ukraine, on top of more than 150 military advisers including Special Ops forces.

Since the 2014 coup, the U.S.-backed Ukrainian military forces have slaughtered over 14,000 people in the Donbass region of Eastern Ukraine where the majority of the residents support and identify with Russia.

U.S. imperialism was built on slavery, genocide and colonialism. As Chairman Omali Yeshitela has stated, “the oppressive conditions faced by Africa, Africans and the majority of the peoples of the world are globally connected to the experience of affluence and power by the white population that is dependent on a pedestal of colonial domination.

“African Internationalism connects the current political and economic configuration of the world to the colonial enslavement of Africa and African people. It proves that capitalism emerges as a parasitic world economy born at the expense of Africa, Africans and all the world’s peoples who are subjected to foreign and alien colonial rule up to this date.”

The U.S. colonial-capitalist State murders African and Indigenous people inside the U.S. every single day, including George Floyd, Amir Locke, Breonna Taylor and millions of others, while also occupying and waging genocidal mass murder and terror throughout the world such as in Libya, Iraq, Afghanistan, Palestine, Somalia, Haiti, Congo, Yemen.

We cannot separate the struggle of African people against colonialism right here inside the U.S. from the crisis sweeping the world within the colonial mode of production resting on the backs of colonized African people.

The leadership of the African working class must be provided to understand the situation between Russia and Ukraine, and building the international African Revolution from where we are located must be the response of the globally dispersed African Nation.
