Flint genocide turns African resident’s skin condition into unbearable pain

It has been almost two years since the colonial government of Flint, Michigan switched Flint’s water source to the Flint River, providing its residents with lead, bacteria and chemical-filled water.

What colonial media is deeming a “crisis,” is actually the deliberate poisoning of an African community.

The African people of Flint began suffering from headaches, psychological problems, legionnaires’ disease (a type of pneumonia) and even death due to the poisonous water they have been drinking, cooking with and bathing with.

One resident in particular, 50-year-old Gerry Woodberry, has been experiencing daily, unbearable pain from extreme skin lesions on his skin. Gerry has suffered from lichen planus, a skin condition which causes his body to attack his own skin cells. His condition, however, has been worsened and made unbearable by the poisoning of Flint’s water source.

Gerry stated that before the water switch, the water from his showers would soothe his skin. Since the water switch, however, his skin is very irritated, dry and constantly hurting. “Some days I can’t event put my socks on or my shoes,” said the Flint resident.

This is chemical warfare being enacted against our African people.

According to the United Nations genocide is, “any act which causes serious bodily or mental harm to members of the group.” It is also, “deliberately inflicting on the group conditions of life calculated to bring about its physical destruction in whole or in part.”

What Gerry and many of Flint’s African residents are experiencing at the hands of the State is genocide.

Gerry has expressed that he has lost trust in the government after the Flint genocide.

Gerry, and all Africans, must understand that the U.S. colonial government has always existed to protect and serve the interest of the white ruling class, at our expense. They are not to be trusted by us Africans.

Africans Charge Genocide!

The International People’s Democratic Uhuru Movement (InPDUM) has created a petition campaign, Africans Charge Genocide, to petition the United Nations to charge the government of the U.S. with the crime of genocide against the African population in this country.

This campaign will bring to the international forefront the numerous genocidal crimes that the U.S. government has committed against Africans since we were first stolen from Africa and brought to these shores, and up to present day.

We must charge the U.S. for their crimes of genocide against us. Visit AfricansChargeGenocide.org to read, sign and share the petition. We must gain 1 million signatures. The lives of Flint’s residents, and well as Africans all over this country depend on it.
