On June 30, 2020, the African People’s Socialist Party and Patrice Lumumba Coalition held a demonstration outside the Belgian Embassy in London on the 60 year anniversary of the Democratic Republic of Congo’s (DRC) independence.

After George Floyd was brutally murdered by police in Minneapolis on May 25 the African working class erupted in a profound, sustained resistance. That resistance has opened up the deepest questions about this society we live in and the origins of capitalism and white power itself.

The following presentation was made by Chairman Omali Yeshitela at a press conference held on June 15, 2020 by the Uhuru Movement in response to the St. Petersburg city council’s proposal to hang a plaque on the blank wall in city hall to replace an offensive anti-African, white nationalist mural that the Chairman tore down during a demonstration in 1966.

“Extend the Vanguard onto the Pedestal!” was the slogan of the African People’s Solidarity Committee (APSC) report to the historic national Plenary of the African People’s Socialist Party (APSP), held February 1-3 at Akwaaba Hall in St. Petersburg, FL.

It is urgent that we internalize the Chairman’s revolutionary definition for genuine reparations and how this informs the call to the white community to build the African People’s Solidarity Committee (APSC) and Uhuru Solidarity Movement (USM) under the leadership of the African People’s Socialist Party.

Another problem solved by our Party was to give reality to the demand for reparations that had been talked about within the national liberation movement for generations.
