Winning the war of ideas

“The AgitProp presentation was lit!” exclaimed Comrade Gazi Kodzo, as the warriors of the African People’s Socialist Party’s (APSP), Department of Agitation and Propaganda (AgitProp) marched triumphantly out of Akwaaba Hall.

Sunday, January 10, 2016, marked an exciting new era in the Party’s struggle to win the war of ideas. The pieces are falling into place and AgitProp is growing.

The department has been on the ascend since the appointment of Jevon Gee as Director of Agitation and Propaganda.

AgitProp looks to smash all of its contradictions, as well as imperialism in 2016!

Controlling the narrative

“We control the narrative!”, responded 12 voices belonging to Jay Davis, Will Lockett, LIFE Malcolm, David Smith and other comrades in unison to Jevon Gee’s chant, “Who controls the narrative?!”, before taking their seats near the podium.

Jevon delivered a PowerPoint presentation highlighting the leadership of AgitProp’s work in 2015 defining the critical questions in the world, advancing the African Internationalist Revolution and politically educating and developing leaders in the struggle.

Kabaka Mwanga, Secretary of the AgitProp recruitment team, gave up the goods in the plans to bring more people into the work.

Xavier McGregor presented The Burning Spear’s shared services.

The announcement of several staff changes were made, one of which was the appointment of Day Steer as Editor in Chief of The Burning Spear newspaper. Day Steer is expected to breathe fresh life into the newspaper.

Additional staff were brought into the AgitProp department and announced at this year’s Plenary.

Unique D’vine, a new but determined force to The Spear, was appointed Distribution Manager.

David Smith, a contributing writer for The Spear, has now officially joined the AgitProp team.

New guidelines have been set in place for The Spear staff. All writers, proofreaders, layout designers and copy editors are required to receive training in their work to produce a quality newspaper for the African masses.

An exciting change to the APSP’s AgitProp dept. was the announcement of the renaming of UhuruNews.com to TheBurningSpear.com.

This new change will align the brand of The Burning Spear across the two media outlets, as our readers will be able to make a direct connection between them.

A new name also comes with a brand new look. TheBurningSpear.com will feature articles describing the reality of African people around the globe from the perspective of African Internationalism.

Black Power 96.3 FM: No degrading lyrics!

One of the most groundbreaking wins for AgitProp was the announcement of the launching of Black Power 96.3 FM in St. Pete, Florida!

Station Manager Maitho Adabuwale, starred in a video presentation, smirking confidently as he led the captivated audience on a spectacular sneak peak of what Black Power 96.3 FM will sound like.

No degrading lyrics, African music of all genres and a big heaping of African Internationalism intertwined with a playlist of perpetual African empowerment, brought the 2016 Plenary attendees to their feet and jubilant applause.
