Uhuru Festival Flea Market in Philly: Get Fit For the Revolution! It’s Our Only Solution!

Philadelphia PA—The African People’s Education and Defense Fund (APEDF) is holding our 6th annual Uhuru Health Festival & Flea Market on April 22nd! The theme is, “Get Fit for the REVOLUTION! It’s Our Only SOLUTION!

The free all day program in West Philly’s Clark Park features fitness workshops including  Yoga, Zumba, and line dance, free health screenings, live music, giveaways, 100 + vendors and the Children’s Circle.  We’re organizing for health and building economic self-reliance in our community.

In the Strawberry Mansion section of North Philadelphia, the life expectancy of an African is 20 years less than a white person in Center City.  Philadelphia has the highest rates of deep poverty and hunger of any major city.  Colonialism destroys the health of the African community and the solution is REVOLUTION!

Our special guests include Kunde Mwamvita, APEDF representative and mother of Dominique Battle, one of three girls murdered by Pinellas County Sheriffs, and Ticharwa Masimba, leader of the One Africa One Nation Marketplace in St. Louis.

APEDF and our many partners are committed to building collective health and economic development programs that the African community needs to take control of our health and win freedom and self-determination!

Uhuru!
