Job opening: Fitness Gym Trainer & Promotions for All People’s TyRon Lewis Community Gym & Wellness Center

The Fitness Gym Trainer & Promotions provides fitness services to members of the gym,
and carries out promotions and membership programs to build the Gym and
APEDF Wellness Program as a dynamic community resource
to positively impact the individual and collective health of the African community.
 
Summary of Duties and Qualifications:
  • Develop and carry out promotions and membership programs and special events that result in increased gym membership and participation in the gym and APEDF Wellness Program.
  • Promotion work includes social media posting, literature distribution, calls and emails to individuals, community networking, presentations promoting the gym, health and fitness, and APEDF special events such as health education seminars, health fairs, and open houses.
  • Instruct and coach groups and individuals in proper exercise and fitness; provide personal training to individuals. Provide information and resources to gym members and groups on nutrition, weight control, exercise and healthy lifestyles, with information specific to the African community.
  • Carry out general gym staffing duties including intake of new and renewing members, equipment cleaning and maintenance.
  • Recruit and supervise volunteers
  • Must be knowledgeable and passionate about fitness, nutrition, and improving health in the African community. Certifications in personal training and CPR required.
  • At least two years related experience in marketing and promotions; Self-motivated with good communication, leadership and organizational skills. Possess basic computer skills or willingness to learn including MS Word, Excel and social media.
