George Zimmerman puts gun that he used to murder Trayvon Martin up for auction

George Zimmerman is up to his antics once again.

Zimmerman listed the handgun, which he used to murder 17-year-old Trayvon Martin in 2012, for sale with an opening bid of $100,000 and a $500,000 “buy now” special.

The listing was posted on unitedgungroup.comon Thursday May 12, 2016 as “George Zimmerman 02/26/12.” The listing has since been removed due to “bogus bids.”

Three years ago in Sanford, Florida, Zimmerman followed Trayvon as he walked from the store after purchasing snacks. Zimmerman assaulted young Trayvon and shot him in the chest.

Seventeen-year-old Trayvon Martin was murdered by George Zimmerman in 2012

Zimmerman was released the same night he murdered Trayvon and was not actually charged until a year later.

He was eventually found not guilty by the colonial court in July of 2013. This grave injustice angered African people all over the country and sparked some of the first demonstrations under the “Black Lives Matter” slogan.

U.S. president Barack Obama was even forced to make a half-hearted statement saying, “If I had a son, he’d look like Trayvon.”

Obama’s pointless observation, nor the demonstrations were able to bring justice to Trayvon’s family.

Murderer Zimmerman now wants to sell the weapon that has an African child’s life on it.

The website has received a lot of traffic bidding and commenting on Zimmerman’s disgusting listing. George Zimmerman has reopened the wounds of African people with his latest antics.

Zimmerman is aware that there is a great deal of support for what he did to Trayvon. This support allowed him to go free after murdering a young African teen in cold blood.

Perhaps, he is short on cash. Maybe he just wants more attention. The fact remains that we are being slapped in the face again.

Murder souvenirs are nothing new

It is not uncommon for white people to pay top dollar for souvenirs from the murders of African people.

Lynchings were often immortalized with their images on postcards.

Body parts such as ears, genitals, fingers and toes were cut from the bodies of murdered Africans and sold as memorabilia from lynchings.

The Belgians were so notorious for chopping off the hands and feet of Africans in the Congo, they combined their sadistic history with their love for chocolate to create little chocolate candy hands resembling their African victims.

Zimmerman is only following the logical sequence of actions based on colonial history.

It is not enough that we must live with the fact that Trayvon’s murderer roams freely.

Zimmerman and those like him are trying to revive a cultural phenomenon that glamorizes the genocide of African people.

We can’t stop the glamorization of our genocide until we decide to stop our genocide. We must struggle for self-determination.

If the African nation had self-determination, George Zimmerman would have answered to the African community. He would have been punished for his crimes as the African working class sees fit.

We as African people wouldn’t have to put up with the guns used to murder our children being auctioned off to the highest bidder if we took the stand to hold the murderers accountable.

Colonial courts will never give us justice. Zimmerman’s trial made that obvious.

Africans wouldn’t have to cope with such devastation if we controlled the courts in which anti-African murderers who kill African people are tried.
