Day 3 -The Training of African Revolutionaries at month-long Party Intensive in St Petersburg, Florida

Day three of the African People’s Socialist Party’s Intensive was intense!

The day started with exercise. One group went to the Tyron Lewis All People’s Community Gym for aerobic training led by Diop Olugbala, another went to the Uhuru House for yoga, led by Penny Hess and the last group did weight training at the gym, led by John Thomas.

From there, we freshened up and got ready for study on Dialectical Materialism. This was challenging at first but the Chairman enlightened us on this theory, as well as other terminology.

Dialectical Materialism is a tool to see the world as knowable and changeable. It informs us that we can understand the world and have the responsibility to change it.

We then received examples and explanations on how to write a Plan of Action, led by Diop Olugbala and John Thomas, which was very informative.

They taught us the importance of planning and making a realistic assessment to make your plans come true in the real world by studying the outline given by the Office of the Deputy Chair.

Next, the four groups were given scenarios in which we solve the problems in these scenarios.

The scenarios were very realistic and some had actually happened.

We then gave an outline of our Plan of Action.

Each group gave their presentations, which was critiqued by Chairman Omali Yeshitela and Luwezi Kinshasa.

The criticisms were noted and will be used by each group to improve their plans.

Lastly, each group answered questions on Dialectical Materialism, Idealism, Materialism, Metaphysics and the usefulness, or lack thereof, of these concepts in the winning of the African Revolution.

Uhuru! We await day 4.
