The African People’s Socialist Party (APSP) has recently learned that CIA-backed forces have added Chairman Omali Yeshitela to a Ukraine-based hit list. The list exists as a website called Myrotvorets which translates to “Peacemaker.”
It was established in December 2014, just months after the CIA-backed overthrow of Ukraine’s pro-Russian government. Created by members of the CIA-backed and trained coup regime, it’s been used by the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) and others to attack, imprison and mark “enemies of Ukraine”—meaning anyone opposed to the U.S.-imposed regime—for assassination. Some whose names have appeared on the list were assassinated by neo-Nazi forces only days after their names and home addresses were posted.
It seems that APSP Chairman Omali Yeshitela was added to the hit list in 2015. Calling him an “accomplice of terrorists,” the site lists personal information about him including his colonial name and date of birth as well as his position as leader of the Uhuru Movement. It links to his Facebook page and an interview he’d done with the Anti-Globalization Movement press in Russia.
The site states that “the Peacemaker Center asks law enforcement agencies to consider this publication on the website as a statement about the commission by this citizen of deliberate acts against the national security of Ukraine, peace, the security of mankind and international law and order, as well as other offenses.”
The inclusion of Chairman Omali’s name on this CIA hit list is just another part of the assassination attempt against the Chairman by the U.S. government. The looming threat to imprison 81-year-old Chairman Omali Yeshitela following the July 29, 2022 predawn raids on his and other Uhuru Movement leaders’ homes and offices by heavily armed FBI troops is another attempt to assassinate him. Their intention is either to eliminate him on the outside or make sure that he dies in prison.
This knowledge of the CIA adding Chairman Omali’s name to this hit list came days before the federal government announced indictments of him, Penny Hess, Chairwoman of the African People’s Solidarity Committee and Jesse Nevel, Chair of the Uhuru Solidarity Movement.
The U.S. government’s bogus claim that these attacks are being made because all of the work that the Uhuru Movement has done for more than 50 years to fight for the freedom of African people was done because some Russians, that the Uhuru Movement met in recent years, told us to are ridiculous. We cannot allow these attacks from a desperate, dying imperialism to stand!
These are attempts to neutralize the leadership of the International African Revolution because the greatest threat to imperialist white power is Africans and other colonized people refusing to continue to be the pedestal that this entire parasitic system rests on.
We must push back against these attacks! We must defend our leaders!
