This historic conference takes place at a critical juncture in the African liberation struggle. The recent consolidation of the African Socialist International – initiated by the African People’s Socialist Party – in West, East and South Africa, and the Uhuru Movement’s growing presence in cities throughout the U.S., combined with increasing resistance from oppressed peoples in South America, the Middle East and Central Asia, bring us ever closer to the final offensive against U.S.-led imperialism, even as worldwide capitalism is buckling under severe economic crises.

The 2009 APSP Plenary will provide strategy, political education and training to organizers dedicated to building a powerful revolutionary movement that will usher in a new era of human society – one without slaves and slave-masters, oppressed and oppressor, colonized and colonizer.
