U.S. president Trump announces plan to intensify attacks on Africans and Indigenous people. Don’t agonize, organize!

On September 25, 2025, U.S. president Donald J. Trump issued a memorandum on “countering domestic terrorism and organized political violence.”

This memorandum published what we already know: that the U.S. colonial State is making war on the righteous anti-colonial resistance of African, colonized and oppressed peoples inside its borders, abandoning any pretext of democracy.

To justify their targeting and surveillance of individuals, groups and organizations that hold, “anti-Americanism, anti-capitalism, and anti-Christianity” views or express support for “the overthrow of the United States Government; extremism on migration, race, and gender; and hostility towards those who hold traditional American views on family, religion, and morality,” they are defining them as domestic terrorists and catalysts for political violence against the colonizer.

The U.S. definition of “political violence” doesn’t extend to the attacks made on the Uhuru Movement through FBI raids on July 29, 2022. It doesn’t include the rounding up of Indigenous/Mexican people into concentration camps, nor does it include the deployment of national guard troops and military personnel into African communities across this country. Under colonialism, this is not political violence; it is the social norm.

In light of this memorandum, the African People’s Socialist Party deepens its resolve to complete the Black Revolution of the 1960s–a revolution that was crushed by the unending U.S. counterinsurgency. In the 1987 Political Report to the Party’s Second Congress, “This Time Til’ It’s Won! Power in Our Hands”, Chairman Omali explains, “millions of Africans who were thrust into motion during the revolutionary process of the sixties were there spontaneously, without the benefit of theoretical grounding, any scientifically-influenced assessment of our condition or any strategy to overturn our oppression.”

Unlike the period of the Sixties, we have a revolutionary Party with a revolutionary theory that defines our practice in the world. We are poised through organization to take on the attacks made against our Revolution–and to use this moment to deepen the crisis of a desperate and dying colonial mode of production.

We are calling on our organizers to go to the people with the news of this memorandum and arm them with “Know Your Rights” information and our “What to Do When the FBI Comes Knocking” tip sheet, published here for your convenience.
