The Reparations Challenge! White solidarity with Black Power!

ST. PETERSBURG—On April 16-17, 2016, the Uhuru Solidarity Movement (USM) calls on white people across the U.S., Europe and the world to travel to St. Petersburg, Florida for the annual USM national convention, titled “The Reparations Challenge! White Solidarity with Black Power!”

The USM is the organization of white people working under the leadership of the African People’s Socialist Party (APSP), organizing in the white community for reparations to African people.
White people: we have benefited from the oppression of African people for the past 600 years.  It is time for us to take responsibility, face the truth, and do our part in ending this brutal legacy.

Africans and oppressed peoples everywhere are moving towards self-government and self-determination, freeing themselves from brutal domination by white power that has ruled over their lives for half a millennium.

From slavery to lynching to the daily reality of police murders of African people, white people have been complicit in six centuries of uninterrupted genocide against African people.

Learn how white corporations and citizens can pay reparations by supporting the African People’s Socialist Party’s economic initiative, Black Star Industries, building the foundation of the liberated African economy.
It is not enough to “unlearn racism.” Take responsibility for the fact that we participated in this bloody system, carried out crimes against African and Indigenous humanity in order to make a better life for ourselves at their expense.

Our only redemption is in returning the value of stolen African labor and resources to those from whom it was stolen.

An apology will not suffice. We must repair the damage. Pay back what was stolen. Join in solidarity with the struggle of African people everywhere to be free and self-governing.
The convention will feature a keynote presentation by Omali Yeshitela, Chairman of the African People’s Socialist Party, founder and leader of the Uhuru Movement.

Penny Hess, Chair of the African People’s Solidarity Committee and author of “Overturning the Culture of Violence,” will speak on the role and responsibility of white people in the African liberation struggle.
There is no reconciliation without reparations. Our future is in solidarity with African people.

Turn loose your “whiteness,” and unite with the future!
