Organizers, activists and supporters of African liberation from across the country will convene for the two-day conference featuring workshops and presentations from leaders in the African Liberation Movement.

Presentations will expose the many forms of racial injustice and propose solutions through discussions of:

  • How white people can be part of a future in unity with African people and all those oppressed by this society.
  • What the rising resistance of African and oppressed peoples in the U.S. and around the world means for white people.
  • How to take on the U.S. prison industry which ties up 7.5 million mostly African and other oppressed peoples—the largest prison population in the world.
  • How to stop Obama’s endless wars around the world.
  • How white women and LGBT people can relate to the racial divide in a principled way.
  • What imperialism means to the majority of humanity and how white people can be part of creating a just world.

The keynote speaker will be Omali Yeshitela, Chairman of the African Socialist International and founder of The Burning Spear newspaper. He is a political leader who emerged in the Black Power struggle of the 1960s, Yeshitela has traveled throughout the U.S., Europe and Africa, building a movement for the unification and liberation of African people worldwide.

Penny Hess, Chairwoman of the African People’s Solidarity Committee and author of  “Overturning the Culture of Violence,”  will speak on the role and relationship of white people in solidarity with the African liberation movement.
